The Blairsville native began racing at the age of 7 in the go-kart divisions. As he grew up, he began racing in the Legend Cars and Asphalt Pro Late mode, and then he started competing in the Dirt Late Model.

He made his way into the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series in 2005. Since his debut, he has collected victories in more than 65 races and Top-10s in over 282 races in the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series.

After dominating the Dirt Late Model Series for more than a decade, in 2023, he embarked on a journey of the NASCAR Series.

At present, the professional stock car driver has been competing part-time in the NASCAR Cup Series for Kaulig Racing.

Also, he has made appearances on the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series for Spire Motorsports.

At 40 years of age, he still has that passion, hunger, and fierce competitiveness to secure the win in the races.

Jonathan Davenport Has Always Got His Parents’ Support

Jonathan Davenport was introduced to racing by his father, J. L. Davenport. When he was only three and a half years old, his father used to take him to the racetracks and teach him how to drive.

After some years, ‘Superman’ would drive his father’s car on the tracks after his father had finished the race.

Although his father did not race at the professional level, he had a passion for racing and used to compete in the local races.

J. L. Davenport had his own No. 49 car that he used for racing, and whenever he would win the races, he would let his son carry the checkered flag and the trophy.

This early introduction to racing is the thing that inspired Jonathan to enter the field of racing.

Similarly, he grew up in a middle-income family where J. L. owned a salvage yard and had a lot of used-car, and his mother, Jane Davenport, was a beautician.

Jonathan calls his parents a hustler because they put a lot of effort and money into helping him pursue his dream of becoming a racer.

It had reached a certain point where they were on the verge of bankruptcy by trying to get him to the next level of racing.

To compete in a single race on the weekends, he and his father would work the whole week just to gather and install different parts of the racing car.

Also, whenever he was down and did not win the race, his father would always be there cheering him up.

In an interview, J. L. mentioned that he consistently offered his son words of encouragement, expressing:

“You might not win the race, son, but you are like Dale Earnhardt because when you are going home, everybody’s talking about you.”

Jonathan Davenport Has A Strong Support From His Wife

Besides racing, Jonathan Davenport’s life revolves around his wife, Rachel Davenport, and son, Blane Davenport.

His wife has been his rock since they got married on July 29, 2006, and they together have faced tough times together and celebrated the good ones.

It hasn’t always been easy for them because Jonathan was struggling to make a living out of racing on dirt tracks during his initial days.

But they were always together, and they outgrew these challenges becoming stronger.

At present, they have got their own ranch, named “Dirty Dollars,” where they live and spend time together.

Through thick and thin, Jonathan and his wife have shown that love and support can help them tackle any problem that comes their way.

Even though Rachel initially thought Jonathan was arrogant when they first met, as they spent more time together, they started to like each other and eventually fell in love.

The family got bigger when they welcomed their son, Blane Davenport, on June 17, 2012. Blane’s birth brought a lot of happiness and love to their home.

Now, following his father’s footsteps, Blane has been developing an interest in racing, as he can be seen in various go-kart racetracks.

Although he has a busy schedule because of his work commitment, he spends time with his wife and kid whenever he is free.

Later, he continued the race but did not finish as strongly as he wanted because of the damage his car sustained from the collision.

Likewise, while racing for the third position at Golden Isles Speedway in the 2023 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series, he crashed with Hudson O’Neal.

Moreover, in the 25-lap feature event of the 2023 USA Nationals at the Cedar Lake Speedway, his car went spinning down the track after he lost control.
